Newly elected Governor, Jerry Brown, releases his 2011-2012 Budget; the California Library Association (CLA) declares “Library Funding Decimated.”
If passed, the Governor’s Budget proposal will completely eliminate state funding for the following programs: Public Library Foundation, California Library Literacy and English Acquisition Services, and the California Library Services Act. Library cuts would total $30.4 million.
