Library News: California Libraries Hit in Budget Cuts

Newly elected Governor, Jerry Brown, releases his 2011-2012 Budget; the California Library Association (CLA) declares “Library Funding Decimated.” If passed, the Governor’s Budget proposal will completely eliminate state funding for the following programs: Public Library Foundation, California Library Literacy and English Acquisition Services, and the California Library Services Act. Library cuts would total $30.4 million. Nolo Loves Librarians (and Vice Versa)!

American Association of Law Libraries recently held their Western Pacific Chapter Annual Meeting (AALL Westpac) in San Francisco on Oct. 14-16 .
